Windermere was born over 65 years ago with a single stylist’s chair in a small shop located in the heart of downtown Nassau.

Originally named ‘Barbara’s Beauty Salon’ Windermere was named after its creator Barbara Brice Paton, known to all as ‘Bobby’.

Bobby was fully trained in New York City and opened her first salon at 16 years old. Very quickly, one shop grew into 16 locations on three different islands!

Bobby became an Avon distributor as well as the first representative for Wood Smoke cosmetics in the Bahamas.

In 1984 Bobby purchased her childhood home, ‘Windermere House’ and converted it into her dream salon, spa and fitness facility, proudly named Windermere.

In 1991 Windermere moved into our current eastern location in the Harbour Bay Plaza and in November 2005 Windermere West was opened in the Caves Village Plaza, becoming our most recent treasure.

Today, we have three locations, including Lyford Cay, and we are proud to provide quality service to Bahamians and visitors alike, with well known professional products and personnel.
